Memorial Day Picnic/Party

Some pics from your Memorial Day Weekend festivities....I know this will be hard to imagine for some of you, but I was drunk...WOW..whoda thunk. More like these to come shortly.

The Carrier

Ok...so we got his one of those crazy over-the-shoulder harness/carrier thingees...and, holy shite, is this not the most amazing invention since the wheel and the light bulb. Christopher and I got the entire house cleaned up before our guests could arrive and while Mom was out of the house at the hair dresser's joint. He was a tad figity, so I said to myself,"Self," I said,"Why don't you try that crazy over-the-shoulder harness/carrier thingee...I mean, you bought it so why not use it." Not only did he cease his figity-ness, he rather enjoyed vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and other meanial house-type chores with his dear old dad. Gotta love that. Anyways, I just think its an amazing invention.

The second picture was not posed...promise. It was just cute and taken right before I walked out of the house to go to work. Damn cute...and neither knew about it. I didn't show Colleen the picture until that night. She was pissed until she saw herself with our little bundle of joy (and poop-filled diapers).

Christopher was apparently having a very meaningful conversation with his stuffed bear that Nick (Karen't husband) knitted for the lad. This, too, was quite funny....

In-Laws 35th wedding anniversary

Random Chris-ness

Here are the latest pics of Christpher Michael. Its actually hard to believe that he's already 6 weeks old. He's had a busy week this week and got his first shot last Monday at the Dr.'s office....just so you know...I don't think he's a fan of shots.

We at the Kane household appreciate a good nap...and we're doing our best to continue that tradition. Our new little game with "Li'l Dude" is the "Nestea Plunge" to nap-dom seems to work wonders. Its either that or he's staging some sort of law suit against his parents for hurting him somehow. I guess I'd better be careful with the shaken baby jokes.

The Kane's new house

I thought some of you who haven't seen the home Colleen and I recently purchased wouldn't mind taking a gander. I would like to mention, for the record, that owning a home was one of the things on my "Short List of Things Thomas Probably Will Not Accomplish" List...among some other things such as...

1.) Own a home (covered)
2.) Father a child (covered)
3.) Live in the suburbs and participate in "suburbesque" activities
4.) Become a civilized and, for the most part, law abiding citizen...at least most of
the time
5.) At least act engaged in a coversation of "idle chit-chat" or "small talk"
6.) Return to Kansas to live...or at least any city in KS other than Lawrence or KC
7.) Run a Marathon of any kind
8.) Get married (covered)
9.) Vote republican
10.) Swim the English Channel...or any other Channel if I can avoid it

I have, fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you want to look at it) succeeded at most of the list's top ten "things." Wow. I guess there's nothing else really to say about it...except, dig the pics of the Kane family home
