One of Colleen's best friends, Annette, and her husband, Mike, welcomed their new daughter, Ella, into the world on June 21st in Delaware. Congratulations to them and good wishes to their "new" family.

Random Cell Phone Shots

Sorry folks. I've been terrible about keeping up the blog. Being the music teacher at the school has proven to be quite a challenge of late. All of the things that the music teacher would be involved with all sort of took place within the last month and my life has been very hectic. I had to co-facilitate a talent show (which went over very well with all the staff who went to see it), an evening activity called "Celebration of the Arts" which featured the Daily Living Skills and Art teachers as well as myself (also went off very well), and, the latest the high school graduation (messed up "God Bless America", but, in my defense, the lighting was very poor and I couldn't see the music at all. I totally winged it and totally crashed and burned about half-way through the piece. Gotta love it.

Colleen is feeling good, but she's ready to "get this baby out of me" of late. I can only imagine the discomfort these final weeks must cause and I really appreciate and respect tremendously what she and all the other mothers out there have to endure during the pregnancy. We still have stuck with the unknown gender thing. Of course, we have nothing done as far as the house is concerned preparing for the new baby. The new baby will go into Christopher's old room and he will go into our soon-to-be-formerly spare bedroom. I have to paint it and the room needs to be cleaned out in a very bad way. This does mean, however, that we are all bedroomed out now. The next step is an addition...whenever and if ever we can afford it, but that's another post for another day...probably a day far, far away.

Realistically though, there is probably little interest in the goings on of Colleen and Thomas and more interest in updated Christopher photos....here they are.

New Summer Buzz-Do

Below are some pictures of Christopher's new short hair-do. With the onset of Summer and the hot, humid temperature and climate the season brings, we thought it best to give it a shot. I have to admit that we were initially concerned how much we would like the do without the curls. I have to admit, though I prefer the curls, I like this look for him. He really looks to me like he's graduated from being a baby or a toddler (even though he still is a toddler) into a little boy. I've put up some pictures of him with his new do and him playing with his new fascination,"cart-uhs" [pronounced kar-tuhs]. He absolutely loves about anything with wheels (which is strange because none of us have any remote fondness for such things....at least to the point where our child has such a crazy addiction to them). He's gathering quite a collection of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars...but he still loves his blue Easter Bunny that sings "I Love You a Bushel and a Peck". Good stuff. Anyway, enjoy the pictures.

Some Random Recent Photos and Some Pretty Cool Stuff

I apologize to those who follow this blog. Colleen and I have been dealing with very busy schedules. I have had a crazy work/school/choir schedule and Colleen has been working like a fiend. I haven't really had any time to post anything, but I found some recent photos and got a decent video of Christopher singing the alphabet song with his Sesame Street Alphabet Bus. Enjoy...

...and I'll try to get better at keeping this up.

The Latest Pic of Our Latest Edition

I would assume that most of the people who peer at this blog from time-to-time know that the Kane family is about to grow 25% this summer (20% if you count that stupid cat, but I don't since I can't stand her). This is the latest picture we got after our doctor visit last week. So far everything is going well.

The baby's heartbeat is strong and fluid, spine is there, brain is there as well as they brain casing, heart and all 4 appropriate chambers are present and visually accounted for (I mentioned the audio portion with the first independent clause of this sentence), and all appendages are at appropriate lengths and quantities. Good news thus far. Baby Kane a.k.a. "Deuce" has an estimated T.O.A. of July 27th. We'll see how things go.

Easter Day

Easter day with the Kanes and the Tierney family was a good time. We got Christopher all monkey-suited up and ready to hit the town. As you can see, in was a ham in full-form rockin' the cat-walk with his gray suit from J.C. Penny. The suit came with a tie, but he wasn't having it. He rocked the cat-walk anyway with the C.S.I. Miami-look.

After we got to Colleen's Aunt Chris' house, play time began full ahead. Kaylee, Max, and Christopher rode around for a bit in a big, red wagon. We had another Easter egg hunt, but Christopher was more interested in a toy bus that he found than finding eggs. The kids got bubbles and got to throw balls around...good times were had by all.

Oh, and did I mention that Christopher turned 2 years-old on Easter this year? Well, he did...here is the "airplane" cake that Colleen and I made for his celebration. He got loads of presents from a lot of different people. The birthday festivities were a nice cap to a very good Easter Day.

Easter Egg Dying

Every year with the Tierney clan (that is my in-law family for those keeping score) seasonal festivities are tradition. These festivities usually involve holidays, themes, and food/booze (which definitely makes them pretty interesting if nothing else). Saturday night was no exception. Every year, usually the Easter-Eve, we all meet at Aunt Bet's house to dye Easter eggs. This is fun times for the kids because Aunt Bet's back yard is, quite literally, a mini-park -- fully equipped with swing sets, slides, basketball court, lots of riding toys, and a play house (among other things). The kids, then, have a nice place to play and the adults can sit on the chairs and benches and keep watch over the tykes while eating, drinking, and being merry (as adults should per Irish tradition). The dyes for the Easter eggs are always out and at the ready so that anyone can dye eggs at any time. Christopher was able, for really the first time, to sit up and dye the eggs...and, of course, I got pictures....
