He did pretty good. He did get a bit lazy from time to time but was easily returned to form with a little verbal encouragement.
Here's Xman testing out his new football and tee. I hope the NFL doesn't do away with the kick-off or my son will never have a chance to utilize the skills he's developing in that area! He also started soccer at the local YMCA this week. It was a bit crazy, but he did pretty well. He didn't understand the concept of soccer dribbling as he insisted on dribble the soccer ball as if it were a basketball. So, after getting the gift, we were able to work on stopping and dribbling the ball with his feet. Once he got it, he was off to the races. He did a good job.

Ohmigosh, I didn't know you meant he was actually dribbling the soccer ball like a basketball. (I think there was an autocorrect issue when you texted me, and I didn't realize that's what you were saying.) That's too funny! Looks like he figured it out soon enough, though. Now he's cruising around like a pro and doing fancy footwork and everything. I'm so glad he likes it, and that he likes the football as well! Zooey was totally excited when she looked at these pictures with me. "Christopher's presents!" she kept saying excitedly.
ReplyDeleteMatthew is also doing an excellent job with his teeball. Maybe between them they can become proficient in every sport in existence. Who wants to try jai alai? ;D
