Just Some New Pictures of Christopher

I hadn't posted any new pictures of Christopher in a long while, so I figured I'd take a couple of pictures this morning (in the blue sweat-suit) and after work (green ND cap). Enjoy.

Pictures of the New Cognitively Improved Christopher Michael Kane

He was so excited I couldn't help myself...amazing. I love watching kids learn and relearn...it is a truly amazing process...

Christopher Sitting Up? You Be the Judge

He needed a little support from time to time, but he did some sitting up on his own tonight...very excitings stuff.

I think it counts...

He's Finally Fitting and Figuring Out His Play Center

Good news! Christopher can finally reach the floor! AND he's finally getting into some of the toys and activities on it. Very cute stuff. Take a gander...

The Pumpkin Patch

Christopher had his first visit to a pumpkin patch...hell, this was MY first visit to a pumpkin patch for all that matters. Overall decent experience for all of us. All 3 of us went with 3 of Colleen's cousins, their combined 3 children, 2 aunts, and my mother-in-law. I guess it was pretty fun for the kids (at least the kids who were aware of what was going on) until they got tired and, thus, cranky. We did a rock maze and a wood maze...they wanted extra cash for the corn maze, so we didn't do it. We took a hay ride to an almost barren pumpkin patch. There only pumpkins that remained in this wasteland were either runts or broken/shattered/mashed up (whichever you'd prefer). It looked like there was a nice apple orchard, but we didn't venture into it. By the time we got around to getting that opportunity Christopher, Mommy, and Daddy were all tired and cranky. We still got some pretty good photo opportunities. Regardless, here are some pictures from that extravaganza.

He's FINALLY Rolling Over!!

Christopher finally rolls over! Now, mind you, his development is slightly skewed in that he should have rolled over from belly to back before he could roll over from back to belly, but we'll take what we can get. He tries to roll over from belly to back, but he keeps getting screwed up because he's not supporting his weight enough when he's trying to roll over. He, thus, keeps getting caught up on his elbow which prevents him from succeeding in that task. We'll take the back to belly rollover though...and without reservation. Here's how the story unfolds.

(above) I'm sitting there baiting him with a teething toy (its really cool...vibrates when he bites down on it...craziness)...so here's his first attempt of the day and the first video documentation of the phenomenal event. Unfortunately, when he was finally finished with the gruelling task, we had the business end pointing straight to the camera....what are you gonna do?

So, I tried to get him to roll over with a bit of a better angle. After about 6 tries, he was able to do it again...of course we're always with the positive re-enforcement. We do try not to make it sound like we're talking to a dog, but, unfortunately, sometimes it seems to end up that way....and the funny thing is that he appeared not to care one way or another about the positive re-enforcement and more about the toy.

The prior 6 attempts were thwarted either by losing focus on what we were doing to either watch television or look outside...there was 1 of each of those. The other 4 attempts failed due to the above phenomenon (yeah, unfortunately he's still struggling with the reflux...but this was funny. I'd never seen the Old Faithful before. Craziness.

6 Month Professional Pictures

We got Christopher's 6-month pictures done. We went in thinking we were only going to purchase 2 poses and get a small package, but, as you can probably guess, we got 5 poses and a pretty big package that cost us way too much money...but we couldn't pick which 2 we liked. We know we didn't like the 5th pose (hence you not seeing it), but we figured, "why not?" So here are the 4 poses we liked for those of you who actually check out the blog.

P.S.--this picture if proof that Daddy can accessories...he picked out the outfit. Mommy didn't think he would look good in it, but Daddy promised her he would and she trusted his judgement...I think this prooves that she should do so more often! HA!
